Finding Myself OMG: A Bullshit Quest

Well, where do I start? I'm struggling, I suppose, to find out who I am outside of who my parents want me to be, who my friends want me to be, or who my own perfectionist tendencies (totally personified) want me to be. I don't know if this blog will really document my progress in, ahem, coming of age, or if it will just basically be a place for me to vent and blab about nothing. We shall see.

Introduction Thingamajig

Basically, I'm lost in the darkness. As my therapist says, "I'm in the dark night of the soul." Which I think I might originally be from Revelations (damn Catholic schooling and my freakish knowledge of the Bible) but I asked her and she wasn't sure, and I, of course, am too lazy to go searching through the attic for a Bible and look it up. (Do they have the Bible online? Oh, I'm sure they must somewhere. Meh.)

Hee. That was a tangent. I do have a tendency to go off on tangents. Bad habit, I suppose.

Anyway, yes, the point I was trying to make is that I'm confused and frustrated and searching for my identity and a purpose and trying to Find Myself OMG (hence the title). This here blog is going to follow my quest, or something like that. Probably it'll just be random posts on random things as I continue to float in a sea of random mundane life.

Uh huh. I think that's about it for now, I'm giving myself a headache with my own high level of bullshit (again, see the title).

P.S.--- I almost forgot to introduce me in my introduction post! I'm an idjit. Or, if you are not an idjit like me, you could probably just look at my profile. Let's see: My name is Marcia, I'm twenty years old (twenty-one a month from today, baby!), and I'm taking a semester off of college because of stress and depression and I will be using this time to find myself. (Let's see how many times I can fit in the "finding myself" cliche!) I'm a liberal Democratic, politically active, currently looking for a job, and spending the majority of my time reading, writing haikus, doing sudoku puzzles, and watching way too much TV. I love to read (just about everything under the sun), write (right now mostly poetry and fanfiction, shhh), drink ("Alcohol, I still drink to your health!"), hang out with my friends, spend quality time with my beautiful dog, Cordelia, who I'm sure you'll hear much more about at a later date, dance, etc. etc. etc.

I have two other blogs, Measuring My Life in Haikus, and Marcia, On Reading and Writing.

Right. Now I really am wrapping it up, because this has been a lot of blabbity-blab-blab without much substance.
