Finding Myself OMG: A Bullshit Quest

Well, where do I start? I'm struggling, I suppose, to find out who I am outside of who my parents want me to be, who my friends want me to be, or who my own perfectionist tendencies (totally personified) want me to be. I don't know if this blog will really document my progress in, ahem, coming of age, or if it will just basically be a place for me to vent and blab about nothing. We shall see.

My birthday (v 2.0)

Hmm, right, I have a feeling I will be writing mucho about my birthday for the next week or so until I get it all out. (Uncomfortable vomiting metaphor that would not have worked for me yesterday, lol.)

Heres a list of my gifts:

  • iPod nano (from the parental unit)
  • Book Lover's Trivial Pursuit (also from the 'rents)
  • Strawberry Shortcake sheets (Mommy and Daddy gave me those, too!)
  • various collections of shot glasses (from my friends)
  • a gorgeous piece of artwork (from Lyd)
  • a Hello Kitty juice maker (from Allison)
  • a vibrator (thanks, Christina)
  • a prayer rug (from Danelle)
  • various other kick ass gifts, including Hello Kitty items, alcohol-related items, jewelry, etc. from the rest of mi amigos

I'm off to go eat my dinner (macaroni and cheese!) and then I've convinced my parents to play Book Lover's Trivial Pursuit with me. Bwahahaha.

my fave is the prayer rug. did you know they make ones with a GPS compass that will point you towards Mecca where ever you are? are you the one who told me that? or was it James?

Yeah, the prayer rug was freaking awesome. Only Danelle, lol. I have a picture of her going into the Muslim store and buying all these prayer rugs... she got one for Christina, too.

It was James who told you that, cuz I had no idea they made prayer rugs with GPS. It gives magic carpet a whole new meaning!

Hey, I was going through my stash, and did you know your mom gave me 21 lottery tickets? They were in a card at the bottom of your bag and I didn't even see them before! I'll have to call her and thank her.
