Finding Myself OMG: A Bullshit Quest

Well, where do I start? I'm struggling, I suppose, to find out who I am outside of who my parents want me to be, who my friends want me to be, or who my own perfectionist tendencies (totally personified) want me to be. I don't know if this blog will really document my progress in, ahem, coming of age, or if it will just basically be a place for me to vent and blab about nothing. We shall see.

The Wonders of Modern Politics

Owego man re-elected after name drawn from hat.

And people ask why I want to be in politics for a living!

Seriously, though, drawn from a hat? That just seems so.... arbitrary. And old-fashioned, too, obviously. If I were one of those candidates (especially the one who lost, lol) I would be pissed off. The candidate who lost is actually a 21-year-old young woman. Yay for young people running for office! I should run. Or not. I have enough on my plate as it is.

Arg, I hate that little 19 or-something-year-old whippersnapper who is thinks he's all that and wanted to run for mayor but instead is driving cross-country writing a book about how Nickel and Dimed is really wrong and that you really CAN get by on minimun wage because that's like, so intelligent. Arg. That's what I think about young people running for office. Wisdom comes with age 99 times out of 100.

As for the hat-drawing... I don't even know what to say. haha

Oh, yeah, him. I fucking hate that kid. I feel bad that his friend died and all, but he's still a fucking idiot. And no, you cannot get by on minimum wage, not if you have a family at all. He probably thinks working class people just shouldn't reproduce. We hatesss him.

So I take back what I said about young people running for office. Scratch that.

The hat drawing is amusing, isn't it? ;)
